They say that music can sooth the savage beast... Let's test that theory. Introducing Little Miss Mozart!
 Her Introduction:
Imagine yourself with two tickets to the local concert hall for a night of classical music's finest from the likes of Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven. You are dressed in your tuxedo, awaiting the curtain call. You expect a very calm and conservative performance, when in walks a very beautiful, wild eyed young woman with long flowing golden hair, who sits delicately on a swirly piano stool, clad only in spotlight and petticoats. Now imagine this creature reaching out and touching that piano, calling forth from it the masterpieces of old, summoning from its belly the thundering's of the musical gods.
Christine Anderson is this pianist... an award winning one at that, for not only her renditions of the classical masterpieces, but also for her stunning original compositions. But Christine is not just a pianist, mind you. She is a singer and songwriter. And as if that is not enough, this talented light from Heaven is also a brilliant actress who will be featured in two shows coming to NBC and MTV. Christine already takes audiences by storm with her unique fusion of classical masterpiece and crafty piano pop songwork; but with film crews, producers and Hollywood in her backyard, at the tender age of 22, she is poised to be the next Hollywood phenomenon.
Once I met and spent some time communicating with Christine, I could see why critics and fans love her so. She offers her fans lush, passionate, and truly compelling songs created in her heart, played through her body, and carried in her spirit. But it doesn't stop there. Every word she utters and every move she makes is as beautiful as the sonatas she plays. Her words are as intriguing as her looks and her mind is as sharp and witty as her compositions. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you to Christine Anderson, Little Miss Mozart.
Her name and her mystique:
Called "Little Miss Mozart", a name which has become her signature, Christine has expanded her creative palette to include composition of masterful pieces, ebullient songwriting, passionate singing, and now the art of acting. You will find her to be a delicate blend of sophistication, sensuality, finesse, and confidence all wrapped into the body of a seasoned performer. While I first questioned how such a beautiful young woman could go under the name of a tried and true classical genius, it all made sense once I got to know more about her.
Little - because she has been a child prodigy since the age of nine and, to this day, weighs barely more than 100 lbs. and stands a nymphish 5'3".
Miss - because she was raised as a lady by a prominent family who wanted the best for their daughter. She was reared through rigorous home schooling with private music lessons, and was later educated in the private Catholic tradition that is as rich in history as it is in intrigue.
Mozart - because of her direct playing style and whimsical virtuosity.
Her biography:
Christine Anderson began studying classical piano at the age of nine, after sitting down to an instrument for the first time ever and inexplicably knowing how to play. She began performing and adjudicating almost immediately, serving as the pianist for the Portland Youth Sinfonietta and collecting top Music Teachers Association awards and State Syllabus Honors.
Educated at home like Anton Bruckner, Felix Mendelssohn, Amadeus Mozart, and Francis Poulenc, Anderson dedicated most of her waking hours to the mastery of her music. Her innate musical intuition naturally led her to compose, and in 1991, only months into her musical studies, she won 1st Place in the WMTA Young Composers' Project with a Sonatina for solo piano. A long string of other solo compositions soon followed -- among them sonatas, polonaises, nocturnes, and a concertino -- as well as a chamber symphony, a suite of jazz duets, and a collection of works for string ensemble.
Her passion for the masterworks was also fostered with fervor as she built up an extensive repertoire of Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin, and began competing in and winning solo artist and duo piano competitions across the Pacific Northwest. Her exceptional technical execution, tremendous degree of energy, and sheer speed at the keyboard belied her young age, leading internationally acclaimed pianist Wladimir Jan Kohanski to label her a child prodigy and to encourage her exploration of Bach. Christine subsequently entered and won six Bach competition recognitions including two consecutive Junior Bach Festival gold medals for her animated performances of J.S. Bach's Preludes and Fugues.
Christine attended Scripps College for Women on full scholarship, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Music under the tutelage of famed concert pianist Dr. Hao Huang, holder of degrees from Harvard University, the Juilliard School and the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She also earned a concentration in composition under the direction of Dr. Bill Alves, resident composer at Harvey Mudd School of Engineering.
Christine is presently in the studio recording tracks for Passenger Dream, her debut album of all original piano-vocal song work. She also performs at boutique venues across the United States, from Los Angeles to Jeckyll Island.
Her Music and her playing style:
I cannot emphasize with great enough an underscore WHY she is so fit to be called Little Miss Mozart. First, like Mozart, she was educated at home and began her career at a very early age. Her playing is reminiscent of the Vienna style, with clear articulation and a gentle touch. Christine, unlike Beethoven or Brahms who used to bang the keyboard to get rich sonorities, plays as Mozart did: restlessly and in a mischievous, witty manner, with long, naughty fingers running smoothly up and down the keyboard.
Christine is a superb piano virtuoso and has played as a soloist in all of her own piano concertos. Most of the music that she enjoys playing contain virtuoso exercises - cadenzas; fast arpeggios and running notes; light, lively staccatos etc. When Christine gives a concert or plays a performance, the public, including competing pianists, can do nothing but look at her in utter amazement.
Christine's music is very joyful and entertaining as well as being easy to listen to. If I had to describe the characteristics of her music, I would choose words like: grace, restless, melodic, clear, perfect organization, and simple accompaniment. I am intrigued by artists who can play music, and I admire even more those who can create it. But in Christine, you find someone who creates more than music. She creates moments of pleasure, and that is was is so special.
Her exclusive interview with the Founder of Catwalkfever - Steven Harvey
In interviewing Christine, I wanted to show the mixture of inner strength and inner light that accompanies her divine body. Though some might find her style provocative, Christine's allure transcends far beyond the mere physical. You will see in this interview that she is just as stimulating mentally as she is phyiscally.
What part of you life is in total harmony right now?
None of my life is in perfect harmony right now -- if it were, where could we go from here? The bittersweet dissonances resounding in my life during these beautiful moments make me tingle with anticipation of their resolutions. I am always on the edges of a perfect cadence, and it is the MELODY of my spirit that carries me through.
Not that I can see any, but if you had to fine tune any part of your body, what would it be? Explain.
I am perfectly pleased with my body. It is my mind that concerns me!
You seem to have been destined for greatness. Knowing that millions of viewers will get to see the beautiful and creative person that you have been waiting to release upon the world, what was it like to get that call from MTV? From NBC?
When the phone call from NBC came, I was offered the lead female assisted reality role in a prime time special for MEET MY FOLKS. And on top the role itself, they promised to send me on a two week trip to Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. I was immediately a little suspicious of the words "assisted reality" -- they say it's real, but they really orchestrate it? Hmm! Nevertheless, I was thrilled. There is no other word for it. Then when MTV told me they were interested in producing one of my stories (a fun, sexy, campy little whodunit) I whirled around on my heels, punched the air, and cried, "YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!"
What is the name of the MTV show?
The name of the show is called SUSPECT. It is reality-based (you know, kinda real, kinda not) whodunit and, basically, in my story I receive an anonymous note signed "your secret admirer". The purpose of the show is to consider the suspects and convict the culprit. They dust for fingerprints, do handwriting analysis -- the whole deal -- to solve the mystery. For plot and character development they will interview me, show me playing the piano, etc. My music will also be on the soundtrack.
How did you the opportunity to work for MTV come about?
When I worked with NBC this summer producing my episode of MEET MY FOLKS, I worked with a girl who now works for MTV. She passed my file on to them and they looked at my website and became very interested in using me for one of their shows. I was lucky that when they called me to tell me about the show, I already had a personal mystery of my own that the producers felt would make a great first episode.
Music critics have given you beautiful and sincere reviews. Did you find it surprising that in the traditional, ultra-conservative world that classical music seems to reside in, your ultra-sensual, provocative style was so well received?
Great music will always speak for itself, and I have never had one iota of fear that my beauty would in any way diminish or obscure the power of that music. I have also leaned heavily on my knowledge of the success of Franz Liszt, who was renowned for his sex appeal as well as his music, and accordingly nicknamed the Orgasmatron.
What do you think about as you are walking towards your baby grand piano?
The same thing I imagine Marilyn Monroe thought when she was walking towards JFK.
Not that I can see any, but if you had to fine tune any part of your body, what would it be? Explain.
I am perfectly pleased with my body. It is my mind that concerns me!
Describe an outfit that you will typically wear during one of your performances?
I have a red and white petticoat that is infinite layers deep, and it blushes and blooms like a flower when it senses even the slightest motion -- from my feet pedaling, legs moving, hips working, hands pounding. Arpeggious make it quiver most deliciously. It is a favorite of mine.
Where did this unique and appealing style come from (not that I or any other man is complaining) and what tempted you to do it?
My style comes from my heart which is alive and beating with passion. So my clothes has to be alive, because I am alive. And music, even if it is the oldest baroque work in the book, is alive, breathing, and begging to be set free.
You are truly as beautiful and thought provoking as your original pieces that you play. How would you describe your music.
I would describe my music as melodic piano pop songwork with intense classical influence and allegorical, intellectual lyrics. Elton John meets Edgar Allen Poe. Madonna meets masterpiece.
What emotion do you want your listener to feel as they listen?
Everyone is missing something, and I hope that they get whatever it is they need from my music. I will not deceive myself into believing I can ever truly communicate anything to anyone. I am simply satisfied knowing that others are touched or take the time to listen.
(Incidentally, I am probably the only "original composer" who will not take credit for my work. Everything that I write, sing, and compose is channeled through me from some glorious, unseen force tapping into me from Elsewhere. During moments of inspiration when the music COMES, I sit at the piano and just PLAY and SING, and as I do it I FEEL. When I compose, I do not FEEL something then write music to convey that. Music, JUST IS and it FLOWS THROUGH ME allowing me to feel what is channeling through those currents. To call myself the creator of this music and the applicator of these emotions would be to falsely diefy myself. I am but a humble translator. If I am chosen by the gods, it is for my comely appearance and swift fingers so that men will look and listen as I serve as a vessel, reminding humans through music what life is really about. Beauty, motion, passion, LOVE, and release.)
As I envision you in your little private Catholic school skirt and blouse from school, that picture embodies some real life fantasies that many men try to carry over into female acquaintances attire. What other real life fantasies would you like our viewers to know about?
My fantasies are mostly about women and their imprisoned souls being set free through self-realization and ecstatic release. If women could REALLY see how beautiful and powerful they are, and if they could transcend beyond the sex roles they have incorrectly been taught correlate with beauty, this planet would be a Garden of Eden, run by naked Goddesses playing psalteries, harps, and pianos! I fantasize about that. And about not being alone.
You are the epitome of what men fantasize about. What does "Little Miss Mozart" fantasize about?
I fantasize about a world filled with truth and music, where the light from the sun is almost tangible, like transparent golden wine. Where all the women are naked and immortal, and all the men are cradled at their breasts, nurtured with the true love of a goddess, drunk on the wine from the last grapes of our wrath. I would be the High Priestess.
In the picture below, you and your beautiful friend posed for this intimate and sensual portrait. It appears that the two of you are truly attracted to each other and that there just happened to be a camera to capture the intimacy. Do you find women attractive?
Oh yes, I look at a beautiful woman and see a goddess, a regal creation from the heavens. So many women are insecure about themselves, and that is why they are catty and perceive other women as unattractive or threatening.
If there were any women on the planet who you would be attracted to, who would it be?
Oh, Angelina Jolie! Who doesn't notice how gorgeous she is? I will also gladly raise my glass to Shakira's raw, bohemian sensuality; Rose McGowans's pouty lips; and every inch of Milla Jovovich -- especially when she played the role of the scantily clad alien in The Fifth Element and, with nary a blink of those big blue eyes, said: "big badda boom!"
Why do you feel that men (myself included) are so attracted of the idea of two women being together?
I would think that they imagine themselves as the other woman. But I am clearly not qualified to venture such a guess concerning another gender's perceptions.
What are you attracted to in a man? What does he have do to follow through on that attraction?
I am attracted to strength, power, class, and vision. I seek balance and look for someone whose qualities complement not duplicate mine. I like a man who looks good, speaks eloquently, and respects women.
You have so many things to offer your soul mate, what is the one thing that they would have to offer you?
Peace of mind. My mind moves so quickly and my mental tape reels are so far-fetched and bizarre, I sometimes think I am mad. The one thing I need is to know that I am safe...and that all of my fears are just part of my vibrant, creative imagination.
I have often heard that a woman knows within the first couple of minutes if she would have sex with a man. Is this true or are we dreaming?
I can only speak for myself, but within the first five minutes of meeting someone, I AM NOT THINKING ABOUT SEX. I am typically deciding whether the conversation is boring enough to excuse myself or not! LoL!! I will admit, though, I'm pretty much convinced that a MAN goes through that little ritual BEFORE a conversation is even begun.
If I could play classical piano, what would I need to play to get you in the mood?
Something slow and passionate like Brahms or Rachmaninoff... I'm known for my fast fingers, so if you played faster than me I might become flustered not flushed.
With someone who seems to have it all and have done things that most people only dream about, what do you dream about?
I dream of taking it to a higher level. Success in piano competitions, television, and glamour modeling needs to fuse itself together now and re-emerge, phoenix like, as a major label contract with huge promotional and publicity dollars enabling me to be seen and heard by a worldwide audience.
What is the most shocking, but ultimately fulfilling thing that you have done? And please explain.
I slept on the streets in Santa Monica one night. It made me realize what happens to people who let go of their dream.
What is the one hindrance of being a drop dead gorgeous, extremely intelligent, and classically sophisticated woman?
I feel like the Last Unicorn... I am lonesome sometimes.
Beverly Hills is too far away. Why do you not live in Dallas? (smile). What would it take to get you to visit? (Besides the Neiman Marcus headquarters).
If a local radio station sponsored a concert, I would come to Dallas!
What does the future hold for Little Miss Mozart?
Hopefully I hold something for the future.
With today marking the one year anniversary of Sept. 11th , your wrote an original song called Viva L'Amour , which in French means "Long Live Love!". Hundreds of years from now when some talented 20 year old woman is skillfully playing your work in concert, how do you want to be remembered?
With love.
 Her gift to us:
Christine's gift is extraordinary. Like Mozart, she is one of the fastest composers out there. She can think out a complete work and then write it down with incredible speed. And yet, her mind is so restless and rich with musical ideas, that piece after piece of music flows continuously from her pen. Furthermore, she can even write down a piece while thinking out another in her mind.
In my final thoughts, I will assert my belief that Christine, like Mozart, is a composer of the higest echelon of genius. For how many great minds can compose all forms perfectly: symphony, chamber, opera, concerto, vocal, piano solo, choral and... everything? I believe as an actress, she has just scratched the surface of what will become a long and lucrative career on the small and big screen alike. I believe as I watch Christine the model, I am blown away. If a picture is worth a thousand words, I can sum them all up with this one: miraculous. Christine, as was Mozart, is a miracle.
But unlike some miracles that are not fully understood or shared by all, Christine is here with us today and can be reached via her website. So let's acknowledge this talented and creative woman and let her know that you have enjoyed meeting and learning more about her on Catwalkfever.com
