How to fill out your form
Please pay particular attention to the areas regarding body measures, since they are fundamental to help you find work as a model. Therefore, It is important that you don't "cheat" by entering false measures because at your first casting, the client will immediately realize that they do not correspond to reality, and this will put you in an unfavorable position. Here follows a list of the most important details and relative advice:
Height
Stand with your back against a wall, bare footed and try to remain as straight as possible. Since some agencies and designers require a certain height to gain assignments or to do runway shows (the minimum height required on International catwalks is 5' 8" ft (172 cm) for women and 5' 11" ft (180 cm) for men), be honest when submitting your height. There are thousands of models who have had long, successful careers in commercial, print and runway modeling who did not meet those requirements. Remember, your look is unique and that is what will appeal to agencies and their clients.
Measurements (Breast/waist/hips)
To measure breasts and hips, place the tape measure around the widest area. To measure waists, place the tape measure around the leanest area. When measuring, stand in an erect position, with legs together and arm down the sides. Try not to stand artificially or expand your chest and breathing in to much to reduce the abdomen. Women should remember that it is rare to have the same measurements for breasts and hips, and that the hip measurement is usually slightly larger. The well known 36-24-36 in (90-60-90 cm) measurements that many models today flaunt, are, as a mater of fact, a rarity and who declares to have them in fact does not.
Dress size
This measurement is a direct consequence of the above mentioned measurements.
Neck
This measurement is only for men. To be measured in the same way as the waist and is needed to identify shirt sizes.
Bathing suits
Models should consider if they intend to work in this area or in the area of lingerie. Since this is a totally personal choice, it is up to you to decide. If you choose "no", this does not limit, in anyway your possibilities of working in the fashion world. Underwear measurement involves the size of your panties and not your bra size.
Upcoming projects/ Hobbies / Comments
This is a very important section which enables you to specify many things about yourself and describe your person. It is very useful since it may help you meet the requirements of a client who may be looking for specific characteristics. We advise you to specify your education level, your experiences in the fashion world, your interests and hobbies, any experience in entertainment that may not even be linked to the fashion world, your ambitions, your availability to travel for work, even abroad, and any limitations you may have in the near future due to you current engagements. Don't worry if you have forgotten something since you can always contact Catwalkfever.com with updates.
