From their spectacular creations for the runway shows to their teased coiffures for photographic sessions, hairstylists work with models during the seasonal shows, as well as on advertising and editorial shoots. Each season requires new inspiration and a new theme. Hairstylist are not only constantly thinking of the look for the moment, but for next season's look as well.

Fashion trends extend to hair. When grudge was all the rage, models sported a messy, untamed look on the runway; the seventies revival inspired wispy feather cuts; forties retro put curls and waves back into fashion, which was followed by an explosion of bangs (fringes). A change of hairstyle is the most effective way of altering a model's image and can evoke instant attention from the modeling world. Straight and sleek, bleached, tousled, streaked or worn with a bang - top models are constantly changing their hairstyles.
